About Cell Control Bio

Cell Control Bio is a preclinical-stage biotechnology company developing tunable, armed in vivo CAR-T cell therapies for solid tumors. The company's proprietary RheoCAR-T™ platform combines efficient in vivo T cell engineering with a modular armoring system controlled by the RheoBrick™ ON-switch — a degron-based mechanism that uses sub-clinical doses of the FDA-approved small molecule lenalidomide to precisely regulate armed CAR-T cells. Cell Control's approach addresses a key limitation of first-generation in vivo CAR-T therapies: insufficient potency against solid tumors without a safe way to boost activity.

Cell Control Bio was founded by Ali Can Sahillioglu and Ton Schumacher, building on the RheoBrick technology that Sahillioglu developed during his PhD in the Schumacher group at the Netherlands Cancer Institute. With early investment from Oncode BV, the company launched in Amsterdam, Netherlands in 2022. In 2024, Cell Control reincorporated in the United States and is now based at the MBC BioLabs campus in San Carlos, California. Cell Control Bio is a Curie.Bio portfolio company.
